Can you take over a legacy system that has no source code?

It needs to be assessed first. No source code does not guarantee we can modify the old system, but we can start with a takeover health check to determine whether we can connect, back up, export data, and temporarily stop the bleeding, then decide whether to repair, take over, migrate data, or do a light-to-full rebuild.

What should be prepared before a takeover?

Ideally, provide: system and administrator accounts, legal authorization, source code/database/server details, exportable sample files, your workflows and roles, the features that must be retained, and the decision-maker and a testing window. The more complete the information, the more accurate the assessment.

What can the emergency rescue service do?
